There was a crooked man
and he walked a crooked mile,
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse.
And they all lived together in a little crooked house.

I have a lot of problems with my
back. Sometimes it burns, sometimes it
tingles and many times it just plain hurts.
I know that a lot of people have back problems, so I don’t feel alone in
this.
I was noticing that when I stand
up a lot (for me!), like when cutting up veggies for a salad type thing, that
it hurts badly. On thinking about it, I
may have the cause of this.
My right leg is always
numb. When I walk, stand or lean against
something, I bend sideways a little. I
am wondering if not having my weight evenly distributed over my frame, it
causes my back to hurt and get in a strain.
I was trying to compensate for
this today, but didn’t quite pull it off.
When fixing dinner, I tried to stand solid on my legs, not leaning to
one side or the other. It did not work. When I tried to stand up straight, I would
topple to the right. I KNOW my leg is
there, but my brain doesn’t seem to recognize the fact. I cannot seem to stand without leaning just a
little.
I’ve always felt sorry for
elderly people who are all bent over and seem to have such a terrible time
walking and getting around. I fear that,
if I live, I will be in that same shape.
I guess I can be the old crooked woman!! (I’m gonna have to think about
the crooked cat and mouse, though!)

Me Too! I hate to say this but I'm glad I'm not the only one.
My back cramps all up when doing dishes, cooking, dragging a broom, folding clothes... really any type of standing activity.
I find that I stand crooked and figure that is the cause of it, like you.
Just one more thing, eh?
I know how you feel, Sherri....I don't wish this on anyone, but it is good to know that we are not going through things alone....we are in this boat together so I guess we had best make the most of it....have a great day and thanks for reading my blog!!! :)
I don't think I stand crooked, but then again, what do I know?? I've always had back problems, so I can't blame it on MS. I was in two serious car accidents which were probably the causes. Standing actually makes my back better, but when I sit too long, or have a book/paper/puzzle in my lap, I feel the pain. I once heard that when you're standing, put one foot on a low stool and you won't get the pain. Hope you find something that works for you.
Peace,
Muff
